Athelind Stormdancer
Graceful, beautiful beyond measure,
he has touched my soul with his.
A brilliant explosion of colour
wraps me within him, smiling.
Fair of voice and thought, amazed,
he has lifted my voice in harmony...
a subtle blending of musics raised
beyond mortal planes yet visited.
Sinuous body of delicate diversion--
I am enraptured by thee.
Captured upon a breathless vision--
winging upwards to the heavens.
He is all this and more, a delight--
bringing laughter to my soul...
as his gentleness brings a light
shining upon me in blessing...
caressing with a sigh.
A Dream...
The sun broke over the mountain,
glistening on the flowing water.
Colours reflected in your eyes,
twining with the laugh lines there,
lighting the dawn more than the sun,
and bringing laughter to my heart.
Clouds drifted overhead, lazily,
dancing along the dawns slow rise.
You looked up, watching them, yearning,
and I added my wish to yours, silently,
to what gods would listen to your heart,
and to mine...entwined in our desire,
to grant you that one deep longing.
To fly free with the dawn's winds,
leaping past the clouds, laughing,
gathering the exhileration in your hands,
and flinging it before you as you dance.
You looked down, your eye catching mine,
and your smile eclipsed the dawning morn,
as our souls lifted in flight together,
free upon the wind's restless questing.
When you leave...
When you leave, take my dreams with you.
Carry them inside, warm and safe...
Let them out to roam free for awhile--
Tasting the breezes from the sea--
Swirling in your sweet breath with a sigh.
When you leave, take my heart with you.
Carry it within, next to your's...
Let it out to soar with your own--
Light with laughter, dizzy with stars--
Pulsing with the life that is ours.
When you leave, take my love with you.
Wrapped around you tightly...
Let it grow and twine with your own--
Carry it near, never let it go--
Until I'm with you... home once again..
Beloved,
The passage of time can seem an eternity,
When the one you love is not at hand.
The passage of moments lose their clarity,
When your lover is lost in a distant realm.
But draw back the veils of time in revelation,
And the crystal perfection of your smile appears.
Rip asunder the mist that covers the moment,
And your face, sweet in repose, hovers near.
The quicksilver moments, the languid times,
Enure the soul to the scythe's passing.
The passage of time within my soul quivers,
And I am encircled by your arms once again.
Until the passage of the time we are apart is at an end,
I remain forever yours, Light of my Soul.
Wander The Ways
Come, my love, and wander the ways with me,
We'll sing the thunder that is in our hearts.
Dancing, together, entwined in ecstacy,
We'll melt into the dawn of our new day.
Come, my love, and wander the ways with me,
We'll see the future through our past.
Laughing, as one, making our own destiny,
We'll meld into the sunset of our old day.
Come, my love, and wander the ways with me,
We'll mark the richness of our souls.
Loving, we two, passions soaring away,
We'll ignite the making of our Day.
Come, my love, and wander the ways with me.
Why Love?
Why does love have to be so damn hard?
Why the incredible highs and unbearable lows?
My heart lights up when you are near,
and breaks when you leave,
only to sing a song of joy when you return,
then lament my loneliness when you are gone.
Why isn't there some middle ground between?
Where we can meet and be comfortable with us?
Somewhere surely could be found
If we but knew the key, the passage
in some old book of magic runes...
Mix three parts of this with that.
But no, then it would not be us, you and I.
This enchanting entwining of soul to soul,
with all its inherent dangers and pain
and glorious scaling of heights
to be gained to our enlightenment.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHH, Why Love?
Ah love, I do love thee so...
The Fearful Heart
She stood before the light, trembling
Wings flickering with tremors
Memories of other lights, blazing
Memories of rushing, headlong
Into the lights, only to burn
Within their harsh embrace
And here she was again, entranced
Staring into the liquid depths
Fear of the unknown consequence
Of embracing its essense into her
Losing herself to its Wonder
Losing herself to its Pain
One slow step after another
Hesitating, heart fluttering
She reached for the light
Felt it blaze up brighter than ever
And fell within its Fire
Reborn, she flew up, ablaze
With the rapture of knowing
That this light was meant for her
This light was not like the others
It was the Light of her Soul
As she danced within its caress
At times she still trembled lightly
And looked askance upon its source
Small furrows of fear upon her brow
Doubt which made her wings tremble
The light smiled down upon her
Kissing the doubt from her lips
Measuring her length with its own
Claiming her anew with its power
And her trembling ceased
As she lay beside her love
And knew his truth within her soul
All poetry is inspired by Athelind Stormdancer, the Light of my Soul.
